What is the IMS Bearing & What’s the Problem?

The IMS Bearing supports the intermediate shaft on the flywheel end of the motor. It drives the camshafts off the crankshaft and reduces the speeds of the chains in the engine, which promotes better, longer chain life.

The issue comes from the bearing failing and causing irreparable damage to the intermediate shaft of your Porsche. This also causes much larger issues as debris from the failure can contaminate the entire engine.
